In typical Universal fashion, loud applause and exuberant cheers echoed across the production floor. The entire leadership team was in attendance as the Guest Contact Center’s Guest Support Services team was presented with the 2020 NCSA All-Star (Small Team) Award today.
They were unaware that management had nominated them for this prestigious award, so it was amazing to watch their expressions change with realization of the significance of their accomplishment. As Steven Merced, their manager, read the words of congratulations from the selection committee, they began to share handshakes, high-fives and smiles with each other. Again, the transformation from bewildered to awestruck to boisterous was a thing of beauty!
(We love a good, dramatic moment!) Jacquie Dunbar, one of the team’s supervisors, commented as she passed out mini bundt cake treats to the winners, “It’s not only recognition within the call center, but we went up against competitors outside of the call center!” “Across the nation!” added fellow Supervisor, Haaris Shariff. And from the Senior Director, Deborah Colangelo, “Congratulations, Team! We are so proud of you!”
